SMARTT project presents preliminary recommendations for European Degree label criteria

SMARTT presents its recommendations to the European Commission for the implementation of the European Degree Label, stressing the importance of exploring a new funding model and ensuring a link with the labour market in the creation of a European Degree label

Cutting red tape, developing a new funding model and ensuring that degrees are relevant to the labour market are some of the preliminary recommendations that the Erasmus+-funded SMARTT (Screening, Mapping, Analysing, Recommending, Transferring, and Transforming for International Higher Education Programmes) project has submitted to the European Commission to facilitate the implementation of the European Degree label.

The project is one of the flagship initiatives of the European strategy for higher education and the results of the pre-testing of the criteria were already presented on November 30, during the sixth annual summit of the European Education Area, by Rector Amaya Mendikoetxea Pelayo of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, one of the universities of the CIVIS European Alliance, promoter of the SMARTT project.
