Educational goals

The aim of this PhD course is to train professionals with strong aptitudes for analysis and empirical research in the field of social sciences. To this end, the PhD offers interdisciplinary training through which, in addition to the sociological (general and specialist) one, it intends to refine skills that range from the methodological to the economic, statistical, organizational and political fields. In particular, multidisciplinary training accompanies training in the method and techniques, qualitative and quantitative, of the collection and processing of data and information. This PhD course also trains a dual professional profile (researcher / manager) with employment prospects in several sectors in which social science skills are required and with reference to the thematic areas deepened in teaching and research experiences, such as: - Universities and research institutions - public administrations; - for-profit firms - third sector - consultancy work The PhD in Applied Social Sciences is able to disseminate the results of his/her activity in the national and global scientific community. To this end, from the first year of the course, the PhD program encourages PhD students to create scientific products of a type and quality that can be placed on suitable national and international media.
