European research projects
Sapienza actively participates in EU funding programmes for research and innovation, promoting and implementing projects that aim to: support excellence in research; foster the career development of researchers; address the social and economic challenges that are priorities for the EU; support industrial competitiveness; and encourage the development of innovative and pioneering technological solutions.
In recent years, Sapienza has undertaken numerous research projects funded or co-funded by the European Union, covering an extremely wide range of subject areas and scientific disciplines, and achieving excellence in many fields, including, to name but a few, archaeology, physics and astrophysics, the humanities and cultural heritage, the environment, nanotechnology, cell and gene therapy, design, aerospace, and the social and economic sciences.
