1. Requirements and terms
If you have taken more than one entry exam for enrolment in a three-year or single-cycle second level degree programme, after paying the first instalment of fees, you can transfer to another Sapienza programme without paying any transfer fees, provided you meet the following conditions:
- you must meet the entry requirements set out in the 2025-2026 call for applications for the programme you wish to transfer to. If the programme has a limited number of places, you must be placed in a suitable position in the ranking or on the waiting list;
- you must not have taken any exams in your original programme;
- you must be a citizen of Italy or of an EU country other than Italy or of a non-EU country with a valid residence permit in Italy (Art. 26 of Law No. 189/2002);
- If you are a citizen of a non-EU country, are permanently resident abroad and have applied for a study visa for 2025-2026, you can only apply to transfer to another programme from next year onwards.
2. Procedures and deadlines
The procedure varies depending on the admission requirements for the programme you wish to transfer to.
A. If the programme you wish to transfer to has scheduled admission, you must follow the instructions on the web page https://www.uniroma1.it/it/pagina/infostud
The deadlines are specified in the call for applications for the programme you wish to transfer to.
B. If the destination programme does not have scheduled admission, you must follow the instructions on the page https://www.uniroma1.it/it/node/28758 under “Transfer to another degree programme during enrolment”. The application must be submitted by 18 December 2025.
