FAQs
Can I choose my destination freely or are there any restrictions?
Restrictions are indicated in the fields: 'Language requirements' (e.g. language skills) and 'Other information' (see Destination Portal (https://goerasmus.web.uniroma1.it/)
If I have made mistakes in my application (e.g. wrong locations), can I reopen it? If so, within what timeframe?
YES, as indicated in Art. 6.1 - Deadlines and submission procedures, point 5 ' ... It is therefore the responsibility of each applicant to verify receipt of the report, to check the accuracy of the data provided and to immediately notify the Erasmus EU Mobility Unit of any mistake by emailing candidaturaerasmus@uniroma1.it). Please allow sufficient time to resubmit your application before the call deadline.
If I close my application before taking my exams in January/February, will the credits from the exams I take when my application is closed automatically be taken into account in the ranking?
YES, the CFUs obtained and registered on Infostud at the time of the Call deadline will be taken into account and evaluated.
How does the recognition of credits from an Erasmus exchange work?
Procedures can be found at the following link: https://redazione.uniroma1.it/en/pagina/academic-recognition-erasmus-exams
Are there any events or activities organised to promote the integration of Erasmus students into the local community?
In general, welcome events are organised at host universities and Erasmus Student Network (ESN) associations are present.
Does the Erasmus Office provide logistical support during the stay abroad?
The support provided by the central and faculty Erasmus Offices covers both administrative and academic procedures, depending on their specific competences.
What criteria are taken into account when determining the amount of the scholarship?
Country of destination, ISEE (Economic Status Index), year of enrolment and special needs
Will I definitely leave for my chosen destination?
It depends on the rankings and the number of places available
Are the language requirements compulsory?
Level A2 is an entry requirement, but it is necessary to have the level required by the host university, to be demonstrated in accordance with the procedures and deadlines established by the university itself. For students enrolled in medical courses at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Medicine and for students enrolled in courses at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, it is necessary to have the minimum language level required by each location at the time of application.
Can I extend my stay?
Yes, if there is a proven need in relation to the activities to be carried out during the mobility. Funding for additional periods is not guaranteed and can be for a maximum total duration of 12 months (in relation to any previous mobility, 24 months for a single cycle) and until the end of the Erasmus year (31 July 2026).
How can I fill in the preliminary training project for the proposed destination in the application?
The application section is 8. CHOICE OF DESTINATION AND STUDY PLAN. Consult the ‘Learning Agreement Search Tool’: a useful tool to help you choose courses offered by foreign universities where Sapienza students have studied. They are an example of how to propose the subjects to be included in the Preliminary Learning Agreement for each proposed location. Some Faculties assign a score to the above project (see Appendix 2: SPECIFIC SELECTION CRITERIA FOR FACULTIES. The tool is available at http://aris.me/erasmus/erasmus-tool.html.
Where will I stay when I am on Erasmus?
Firstly, you should contact the host university to check whether university residences are available, otherwise you should look for accommodation on your own according to your needs.
In order to apply, is it necessary to state which exams are to be taken abroad, and must these be confirmed by the Academic Supervisors for International Mobility before the application is submitted?
YES, in application section 8. CHOICE OF DESTINATION AND STUDY PLAN (UP TO 5) you must indicate the provisional study plan for each proposed location. Some faculties assign a score to this project (see Appendix 2: SPECIFIC SELECTION CRITERIA FOR FACULTIES). At this stage, the Academic Supervisors for International Mobility (RAM in Italian) can be consulted for support, but the proposed exams do not need to be confirmed.
I am waiting for the results of the tests taken at the Sapienza Language Centre (CLA), when should I close the application?
In order to close your application, you must wait until the test has been uploaded to your application (see the information in Appendix 1 of the Call for Applications).
If I have one of the recognised language certificates, but I have also taken the CLA test, which one will be taken into account for the ranking?
It depends on the certificate (it can be very old), in any case the evaluation will be carried out by the Faculty Evaluation Committee.
If the language requirements include two languages, do I need to have a certificate in both or is one sufficient?
For selection purposes, one of the two should be sufficient, in which case it is better to check with the reference faculty, unless it is indicated in the "useful information" field of the agreement (see Destination Portal https://goerasmus.web.uniroma1.it/).
I am enrolled in a in a Medical and Health professions programme based in Rieti. Which Faculty's destinations should I read?
For programmes in the medical area based in RIETI please consult the list of destinations for ‘Medicine and Dentistry/Pharmacy and Medicine (medical area)’.
For further details contact the Erasmus service of the faculty supervising your degree programme: https://www.uniroma1.it/it/pagina/referenti-amministrativi-erasmus-di-fa...
It is not clear to me whether the order of the five destinations (putting a destination first or fifth) changes the final ranking. If the order of the five destinations affects the award of the grant, how does it do so?
The order of the destinations indicated in the application will be binding for the allocation of destination (in case the applicant is a winner for more than one destination). The ranking will be based on merit and faculty-specific criteria, so the allocation of places will also depend on the other applicants.
I have a problem accessing the application form related to my Faculty/degree programme, which option should I select?

- Political Science, Sociology, Communication: choose the correct option for your degree programme from the three available.

Learning Agreement Search Tool: Tips for filling in the Learning Agreement
The 'Learning Agreement Search Tool' help you select courses offered by international universities where Sapienza students have studied. It is an example of how to propose courses to be included in the Learning Agreement and whose recognition in the curriculum is requested in place of Sapienza courses. The tool is available on the following link http://aris.me/erasmus/erasmus-tool.html .
Courses are organised by faculty and degree programme, and it is important to check the latest course offers from the partner university, which may have changed the syllabus, semester or number of credits. It remains essential to check the host university's website for updates or to suggest other courses. Finally, it is particularly advisable to check the semesters in which the courses are activated, since the data entered in the tool refer to past academic years.
