On Wednesday, October 7, the Botanical Garden of Rome hosted the award ceremony for the winners of the Creative Contest for the best university projects on sustainable development in the Lazio region.

The contest was promoted by the Rector Committee of the Universities of Lazio (CRUL) and organized by the University Committee for Sustainable Development (CASe) of Cassino University, coordinated by Alessandra Sannella, in collaboration with Giuseppina De Simone of Cassino University and the Observatory of Social Theories on New Technologies and Sustainability - Sostenibilia of Sapienza coordinated by Mariella Nocenzi in collaboration with Michela Chiadroni. Each category, economy and social analysis, was awarded nine prizes all evaluated by the judging committee of thirteen delegates from just as many universities of the Lazio region.

Giovanni Betta, Rector of the University of Cassino and President of the CRUL participated in the event as well as Livio de Santoli, Rector's delegate for Sustainability. The young undergraduates and graduates were rewarded for their proposals which will help them enter the world of work together with their training specializations acquired during their university studies: projects for multifunctional farms, sustainability analysis of large companies, app designing to promote sustainable daily behaviour. In addition to cash prizes, the winners now have the opportunity to work as interns at important research institutions such as CREA, confederations of agricultural producers such as COPAGRI and the innovative Sapienza startup SIS.
