Marine biodiversity and cetaceans in the Mediterranean Sea

In collaboration with the Tethys Institute, Sapienza takes part in a programme on Mediterranean biodiversity and, specifically, on local whales and dolphins. This cooperation agreement will last for 2 (two) years.

Protecting Isola del Giglio's marine environment

Sapienza, in collaboration with the Underwater Pro Tour association of Giglio Island (an Italian island off the coast of Tuscany), carries out specific activities to protect the island's seabed, by involving sport divers, surveying areas polluted by waste and fishing gear and monitoring the presence of the protected mollusc Pinna nobilis.
