Vice Rector
Professor of Economic Policy at the Department of Economics and Law, after graduating in Economics from Sapienza University, attended ISTAO (Adriano Olivetti Institute) in Ancona; he obtained the titles of Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Economics at the University of Cambridge and was Post Doctoral Fellow at the Department of Economics at Harvard University.
He is Principal Investigator of CIMEO (Sapienza Experimental Economic Lab), Member of the Educational Committee of the PhD program in Political Economy and of the Ministerial Committee for the allocation of funding to private institutions conducting research activities. He is also a Member of the International Research and Expert Network (Pôle Emploi, Paris), a Fellow of the Global Labor Organization, and Editor-in-Chief of Economia e Lavoro (Interdisciplinary Journal of Political Economy, Sociology and Industrial Relations). He is a Member of the Editorial Board of Sapienza Università Editrice, of the Advisory Board of Labour - Review of labour economics and industrial relations, and of the Editorial Boards of the Eurasian Economic Review, the Central Asian Review of Economics and Policy and the Bulletin of the North Caucasus Federal University. He is President of the Giacomo Brodolini Foundation and a Member of the Scientific Committee of the Manlio Resta Foundation.
In 2011-2017 he was Dean of the Faculty of Economics, in 2018-2021 Director of the Sapienza School of Advanced Studies, and in 2018-2020 Delegate of the Dean for Publishing. In 2000-2016 he was the expert for Italy in the European Employment Policy Observatory (EEPO) of the European Commission.
His research interests are primarily in monetary economics and labour economics, focusing on Dynamic stochastic general equilibrium modelling, experimental economics, and behavioural economics.
He has presented papers and has been Keynote Speaker in international conferences, and has been a referee for several scientific journals of economics. He is the author of books and articles published in important Italian and international scientific journals, such as Games and Economic Behavior, Economic Theory, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Public Choice, Economics Letters, Journal of Macroeconomics, Economic Modelling, B.E. Journal of Macroeconomics, Review of Political Economy, Journal of Modern Italian Studies.
