1. Requirements and terms
To be admitted to two-year Master's degree programmes, you must meet the following requirements:
A. Degree and curricular requirements set out in the teaching Regulations for the programme you choose.
The teaching Regulations are available in the Sapienza course catalogue at https://corsidilaurea.uniroma1.it/ in the Organisation section of each course.The curricular requirements must be met before enrolment.To acquire any credits necessary to meet the requirements for admission to the course:
- if you already have a degree, you can enrol in individual exams in accordance with the procedures described in Article 26 of these Regulations;
- if you are currently enrolled in a Sapienza degree programme, you can take exams pursuant to Article 6 of Royal Decree No. 1269/38 in accordance with the procedures described in Article 25 of these Regulations.
B. If the course has scheduled admission, in addition to meeting the curricular requirements, you must undergo a comparative assessment of your qualifications and pass an admission test, according to the procedures and deadlines set out in the call for applications regulating admission to the course, published in the Sapienza course catalogue https://corsidilaurea.uniroma1.it/ in the “Enrolment” section of each course.
C. If the course does not require scheduled admission, you must submit a request for verification of the curricular requirements and participate in the assessment of your personal knowledge, according to the procedures set out in your degree programme.
2. Procedures and deadlines for the assessment of requirements
A. The application for the assessment of requirements (valid only for courses that do not require scheduled admission) must be submitted on the Infostud system by paying a fee of €10. The payment procedure is described on the University website, on the dedicated page
Payment must be made no later than one of the following dates, at your convenience:
- 16 September 2025 (the only date available if you are a citizen of a non-EU country, reside abroad and are applying for a study visa);
- 16 October 2025;
- 18 November 2025;
- 16 December 2025;
- 15 January 2026 (deadline valid only if you have a degree from Sapienza).
B. If you are graduating or already have a degree from another Italian university, you must:
- register on Infostud, by also entering your identity document in the “Profile>Personal documents” section;
- enter your qualification in the “Profile>University qualifications” section;
- check that your status as a graduating student/graduate is correctly updated;
- pay the amount of €10 using the procedure described in the previous paragraph;
- send a self-certification with details of the exams taken, the scientific areas corresponding to the courses, and the relevant programmes, following the procedures in the notice published in the Sapienza course catalogue https://corsidilaurea.uniroma1.it/ in the “Enrol” section of each course.
The Secretariat will request confirmation of the information provided from your previous university. Failure to submit your previous educational history or a negative result of the curriculum requirements assessment will make it impossible to enrol in the course.
C. If you have a degree awarded in a foreign university system, you must follow the instructions published on the University website, on the International Students Office page. The information varies depending on your citizenship/residence/residence permit:
C1. If you are a citizen of an EU country (regardless of your country of residence) or a citizen of a non-EU country with a valid residence permit in Italy, you must follow the instructions on this page:
C2. If you are a citizen of a non-EU country, reside abroad and are applying for an entry visa, you must follow the instructions on this page:
D. If you have not yet been awarded your degree (at Sapienza or another Italian or foreign university, and the Regulations of the course you wish to enrol in require it, you may request the assessment of the requirements (always in compliance with the deadlines), without prejudice to the obligation to obtain the degree by 24 January 2026 (if you graduate from Sapienza) and by 20 December 2025 (if you graduate from other Italian or foreign universities).
E. The methods for assessment of personal knowledge are described:
- in the teaching regulations available in the Sapienza course catalogue https://corsidilaurea.uniroma1.it/ in the Organisation section of each course;
- in the notice published in the Sapienza course catalogue https://corsidilaurea.uniroma1.it/ in the Enrolment section of each course.
F. The results of the assessments will be communicated to the email address provided on Infostud (or to the Sapienza institutional email address, if available). A negative result in the assessment of curricular requirements or personal knowledge will make it impossible to enrol in the course.
G. The deadlines for paying enrolment fees vary according to the date of graduation and the date of notification of the positive outcome of the requirements assessment. The deadlines listed below must be met even if the payment deadline is 29/01/2026.
G1. If you graduate by 31 October 2025, you must pay the first instalment (or all three instalments), the regional tax and the stamp duty by 6 November 2025, if you have received notification of the positive outcome of the requirements assessment. If you pay in instalments, the second instalment must be paid by 18 December 2025 and the third instalment by 26 March 2026.
G2. If you graduate between 1 November 2025 and 13 January 2026, you must pay the first instalment (or all three instalments), the regional tax and the stamp duty by 29 January 2026, the second instalment by 3 February 2026 and the third instalment by 26 March 2026.
If you pay in instalments, the next instalment must be paid at least 24 hours after the previous payment and within the deadlines indicated, in order to avoid incurring a fine.
H. The ISEE (Equivalent Financial Situation Indicator) valid for obtaining a reduction in enrolment fees is the ISEE for university study purposes or, if available, the current ISEE. The ISEE must be calculated at a CAF (tax assistance centre) or on the INPS website and is acquired by Sapienza through the Infostud system, subject to a declaration of consent. For further information on the ISEE, please refer to Article 41 of this Regulation. If you are a tax resident in a foreign country and do not have an ISEE value, the fixed amounts indicated in Article 38 apply.
