Junior Geologist - State Exam

As of 2015, the State Exam for Geologists will be held jointly with the University of Roma Tre. The exam will be given in alternate years to the two universities, starting at Sapienza. 

Admission Requisites

You can register for the Junior Geologist State Exam if you have one of the following degrees:

  • Degrees: L-34 (DM 270/04), 16 – Earth Sciences, Bachelors Degree in Geology, Geology for Environmental Protection, Geological Prospector;
  • All degrees allowing the profession of Geologist - section A.

State Exam

The State Exam includes the following tests (DPR 328/01):

a) a written test addressing theoretical aspects of Physical Geography, Geomorphology, Applied Geology, Geo-resources and Mineralogical-Petrographic Applications for the Environment and Cultural Heritage, Applied Geophysics, Oceanography and Atmospheric Physics, Topography and Cartography, Chemistry for Environmental and Cultural Heritage, pedology;

b) the second written test addresses the application of the topics included in the first test;

c) an oral test on the subjects addressed by the written tests, relative legislation and professional deontology;

d) a practical test on the subjects addressed at point (a).
