Microcredenziali

Micro-credentials and Innovative Teaching Methods

What is a micro-credential?

A micro-credential is a certification of short-term learning, obtained through innovative teaching programmes and a skills-based approach. This model is establishing itself as a flexible and essential solution to meet the needs of a constantly evolving labour market and society, enabling anyone to update and enhance their profile of knowledge, skills and competences in a personalised and targeted way.

The growing recognition of micro-credentials at European level is reflected in the European Union Council Recommendation of June 16, 2022, a key document that has defined the approach, constituent elements and principles for their design and issuance. This regulatory framework aims to support the development and cross-sectoral recognition of micro-credentials amongst institutions, businesses and sectors, establishing itself as an essential pillar of the European Education Area.
