Servizio Counselling psicologico per il personale Sapienza

Psychological Counselling Service for Staff

As part of the reorganisation of Sapienza's psychological services, a unit has been set up for lecturers, technical-administrative staff, librarians (TAB) and language experts (CEL). The service is coordinated by Professor Vittorio Lingiardi and comprises a team of psychologists and psychotherapists with clinical and psychotherapeutic training, belonging to the department of Dynamic and Clinical Psychology, and Health Studies.

The aim of the service is to offer Sapienza lecturers and TAB and CEL staff, who request it, professional counselling to deal with their personal or relational difficulties in the different areas of life (affective, couple or family, social relations, including work relations), including difficulties related to the recent COVID-19 pandemic and its consequences at the psychological level.

The service provides 4 free individual psychological counselling interviews, followed by a follow up after one month. In specific cases, when deemed useful or necessary, a second round of counselling (4+4 interviews) may be offered, with subsequent follow-up meetings scheduled.

During the pandemic, the psychological counselling service took place online (telephone or video calls). At present, the meetings continue to take place online, but for those who request it, the possibility of face-to-face meetings is also planned. For the latter, the Board of Governors at its meeting on 17 March 2020, approved the allocation of a specific space on the campus.

To access our University Counselling Service it is necessary to send a request (handled in full respect of privacy) to: sportellopsi.benessere@uniroma1.it

Our Office will reply promptly, agreeing on the counselling modalities according to individual needs.

For further information, see the interview with Professor Vittorio Lingiardi on the birth and functioning of the Service, which can be found at the link to the Newsletter of the Faculty of Medicine and Psychology (October 2021)
