What are the TOLC-I calls for applications?
The TOLC-I calls for applications set out the rules, procedures and deadlines for taking part in the selection process for three-year Engineering restricted-access degree programmes.
Meeting deadlines is essential: if you make mistakes or are late, you will not be included in the ranking list and therefore cannot enrol.
What are the selection rounds?
The selection rounds or selections are the attempts you can make to be included in the ranking list for the programme of your choice. Selection is based on the score obtained in the TOLC-I
How do the selection rounds work?
There are three selection rounds. Each round has specific deadlines set out in the call for applications.
To take part in the selection rounds, you must:
- sit the TOLC-I
- register on Infostud
- indicate your programme of preference
- pay the €10 fee. Payment of the €10 fee ensures that your best score from the TOLC-I test is automatically recorded.
If I apply for more than one selection round, do I have to pay multiple times?
Yes. The €10 fee must be paid for each selection round you apply for. You must pay the fee by the deadline specified in the call for applications; otherwise, you will not be able to take part in the selection.
Can I change my degree programme preference?
Yes. You can change your preference up until the selection deadline stated in the call.
The last preference indicated will be considered valid. The preference must be changed solely using the procedure outlined in the call.
If I pay multiple payment slips for the same selection, can I choose more than one programme?
No. Any duplicate payment slips paid for the same selection will be cancelled.
If I indicated a preference for a degree programme in the first selection round, can I choose a different programme in the second or third round?
Yes. You can choose one programme in the first selection round and another in the second.
Where and when do I need to sit the TOLC-I?
The TOLC-I can be taken at any CISIA-affiliated centre, including via the TOLC@CASA option. Tests taken from January 1, 2025 until the deadline for the selection round specified in the call for applications are considered valid. The exam schedule is published on the CISIA website and is updated regularly.
Can I sit the TOLC-I more than once?
Yes. You may retake the TOLC-I once per calendar month, regardless of the test centre or format (in-person or TOLC@CASA). If you sit multiple valid TOLC-I tests, the highest score among those obtained will be taken into account; this is automatically recorded by the CISIA portal.
Can I use the same TOLC-I to apply for multiple calls?
Yes. If you have already taken a valid TOLC-I, you can use it to apply for different calls (e.g. Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering).
You will still need to pay the €10 fee for each selection you apply for.
Can I sit the TOLC-I after the deadline stated in the call for applications, if there are places available on the CISIA website?
No. Even though the TOLC-I is organised by Sapienza, if you sit it after the deadlines set out in the call for applications, you will not be able to take part in the selection process or enrol on the course.
