Enhancement Programme “Boosting Innovation Technology for Market Product Solutions – BIT4MaPS”
Through the Proof of Concept call for proposals, the Italian Ministry of Economic Development (MISE) aimed to enhance the value of industrial property rights of research subjects to support the competitiveness of our country's entrepreneurial system.
Sapienza has obtained 456,000.00 euros for its Enhancement Programme called "Boosting Innovation Technology for Market Product Solutions - BIT4MaPS", lasting 18 months.
Eight projects have been financed through this Programme, corresponding to the same number of patents in the Sapienza portfolio, selected on the basis of technological maturity, interdisciplinarity, and innovativeness criteria.
The eight Proof of Concept projects are distributed in the areas of Chemistry and Biotechnology; Engineering, Civil Mechanics and Construction; Architecture, Design and Cultural Heritage as shown in the table:

Would you like to support one of the patents benefiting from Proof of Concept?
Supporting one of the eight patents funded by MISE means becoming part of the Sapienza research chain, in a logic of collaboration and "open innovation" between universities and companies, between applied research and experimental development, and with a proactive and dynamic IPR management approach.
In concrete terms, with a view to university-enterprise dialogue, the BIT4MaPS Project promotes and collects expressions of interest from both companies and other stakeholders operating in the technological field of reference of the 8 PoCs, in order to:
verify the commercial viability of project ideas related to patents in Sapienza's portfolio;
design and develop use cases and/or prototypes to reduce the risk of future implementations in real environments;
draw up assessment plans and models for evaluating the exploitation of research;
enhance dialogue with stakeholders, especially those of an industrial nature, in terms of expectations and needs;
maximise the cost-benefit ratio related to the exploitation of a patent.
