Maternity policies

Maternity leave is the period of compulsory abstention from work recognised in Italy for female employees during pregnancy and the postnatal period. The "Testo unico sulla maternità e paternità" establishes that maternity leave is mandatory, as it is an inalienable right of the worker, which she cannot renounce under any circumstances.

Sapienza implements national legislation and issues its own maternity policy that supports women's participation.
