A PhD programme represents the third cycle of studies and the highest level of university education within the Italian academic system. It enables candidates to develop the skills required to carry out highly qualified research activities. Admission to a PhD programme requires a second-cycle degree (Master’s degree, specialist degree, single-cycle degree, or equivalent qualification under the previous university system). Call for pre-selection for Citizens of the People's Republic of China - XLII Cycle - Academic Year 2026/2027

The call for applications for Chinese candidates for admission to Sapienza's PhD programmes for the 42nd cycle - academic year 2026/2027 - has been published, in accordance with the agreement between Sapienza and the China Scholarship Council (CSC).

The list of PhD programs for which applications can be submitted is provided in the Appendix, which is an integral part of the call.

The deadline for submitting applications is February 24, 2026, at 14:00 (local time - CET).
