ECM - Continuing Medical Education
ECM – Educazione Continua in Medicina (CME - Continuing Medical Education) is the process by which health professionals keep themselves up to date to meet the needs of patients, the requirements of the health service and their own professional development. Continuing medical education involves the acquisition of new knowledge, skills and attitudes useful for competent and professional practice.
The launch of the Programma nazionale di ECM in 2002 which established the obligation for health professionals to undergo CME, was a strong message of innovation in the world of healthcare. CME presents itself as a tool for designing a modern approach to the development and monitoring of individual skills.
